No Prayer For The Dying

天下無不散的筵席，任何樂隊(duì)都會面臨人員變動的調(diào)整。在一次大規(guī)模的巡演之后，吉他手Adrian Smith選擇了離開Iron Maiden。讓樂隊(duì)的雙吉他癱了一邊，1年后，幸好有前GILLAN樂隊(duì)和WHITE SPIRIT樂隊(duì)成員Janick Gers的加盟，隨樂隊(duì)發(fā)行了新專輯《No Prayer for the Dying》。雖然專輯中的《Bring Your Daughter...to the Slaughter》被評為Golden Raspberry獎(jiǎng)的最差歌曲，但《No Prayer for the Dying》依然成為了Iron Maiden在英國的首張冠軍專輯。

在種種不利影響中，樂隊(duì)在1990年發(fā)表專輯《No Prayer For The Dying》。高潮沒有延續(xù)，這張專輯水準(zhǔn)有所回落。而且由于正趕上重金屬的低迷時(shí)期，樂隊(duì)擔(dān)心銷量而把歌曲風(fēng)格處理的更流行了。即沒有了史詩般的氣勢，也沒有了一貫的沖勁。雖然其中有幾首歌還是滿好聽的，但是聽過實(shí)在沒能留下深刻印象，因?yàn)橐郧暗淖髌犯?。但他們還沒有淪落到流行金屬，還是Maiden式的重金屬。只是他們自身實(shí)在高度太高，再加上有前一張的經(jīng)典作為對比，顯得這張水準(zhǔn)不佳。
