by Andrew Leahey A Weather's warm, intimate folk-pop first took form during 2006's holiday season, when vocalists Aaron Gerber and Sarah Winchester decided to embellish their harmony-driven songs with help from guitarist Zach Boyle, bassist Louis Thomas, and second guitarist Aaron Krenkel. Combining swells of sound with sparse, understated passages, the Portland-based band quickly signed with Team Love Records (co-owned by Conor Oberst and Nate Krenkel, Aaron Krenkel's brother) and issued Feather Test in the spring of 2007. After the success of that 7" record, the quintet returned in 2008 with its debut LP, Cove.
