遠(yuǎn)古的波斯是一個(gè)神秘的國度，那里有著許多未知的秘密等待人去揭開，誰掌握了打開秘密的鎖匙，誰就能得到神奇而巨大的力量。在帝國某個(gè)偏僻而無人問津的地方，有著一把來自于上古時(shí)代的利刃匕首。這把匕首有著不可思議的力量，它能夠釋放出“時(shí)之砂”，“時(shí)之砂”可以讓時(shí)間倒流，穿梭于過去的世界里，利用這種可怕的駭人力量，它能夠讓擁有它的人主宰整個(gè)世界的過去和未來，它可以拯救世界，亦可以毀滅世界……
　　一場(chǎng)慘烈的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)結(jié)束了，隨軍出征的波斯王子達(dá)斯坦（杰克•吉倫哈爾飾）在清點(diǎn)戰(zhàn)利品的時(shí)候，發(fā)現(xiàn)了這把能夠釋放“時(shí)之砂”的匕首，他并不知道這把匕首擁有那么可怕的力量，達(dá)斯坦帶著匕首和其他戰(zhàn)利品回到了波斯，國王弟弟尼扎姆（本•金斯利飾）知道了匕首所擁有“時(shí)之砂”力量，他為了一己私欲，設(shè)計(jì)殺死了國王，并且嫁禍給了達(dá)斯坦，同時(shí)還釋放了“時(shí)之砂”……整個(gè)波斯王國的生靈慘遭涂炭，國民消失殆盡，取而代之的是嗜血的惡魔。亡命天涯的達(dá)斯坦背負(fù)了拯救波斯王國的使命，攜手來歷不明的神秘女郎塔米娜（杰瑪•阿特登飾）公主，踏上了斬妖除魔的驚險(xiǎn)旅途………
