Night Train

Keane（基音樂(lè)隊(duì)）來(lái)自于英格蘭南部一個(gè)名為“Battle”的小鎮(zhèn)，樂(lè)隊(duì)由主唱Tom Chaplin，鍵盤手Tim Rice-Oxley和鼓手Richard Hughes三人組成。

　　和大多數(shù)英國(guó)孩子一樣，三人自小便在一起踢球、探討音樂(lè)、交換唱片。Tim曾在學(xué)校里學(xué)習(xí)鋼琴，但是他很快就厭倦了那些古典樂(lè)，于是他開始在他的Casio鍵盤上譜寫B(tài)uddy Holly式的音樂(lè)，將他創(chuàng)作的音樂(lè)演奏給他的朋友們聽。同時(shí)Richard也開始練習(xí)架子鼓并和Tim一起排練。隨后，又加入了吉他手Dominic，再加上主唱Tom, 四人組成了樂(lè)隊(duì)開始演奏Oasis、U2、Beatles類型的歌。

　　然而，很快他們就厭倦了這類大眾化的音樂(lè)，他們決定要?jiǎng)?chuàng)作出一些與眾不同的作品來(lái)。經(jīng)過(guò)一段時(shí)間的努力，在2000年，Keane發(fā)行了樂(lè)隊(duì)首支單曲《Call Me What You Like》，第二年又發(fā)行了《Wolf at the Door》。2001年7月，吉他手Dominic離開了樂(lè)隊(duì)，樂(lè)隊(duì)轉(zhuǎn)型為以鍵盤為主旋律的三人樂(lè)隊(duì)。2002年，樂(lè)隊(duì)在倫敦舉辦一場(chǎng)小型演唱會(huì)并邀請(qǐng)獨(dú)立唱片公司Fierce Panda的經(jīng)理Williams參加，在演唱會(huì)上Williams立刻被Keane與眾不同的音樂(lè)所吸引并與之簽約，后來(lái)發(fā)行的《Everybody's Changing》在電臺(tái)上大紅大紫，吸引了眾多大唱片公司的目光。

　　2003年秋，Keane與Island簽約，發(fā)行了他們的第四張單曲《This Is the Last Time》。2004年，他們發(fā)行的首張大碟《Hopes and Fears》第一周就登上英國(guó)專輯榜的榜首并且在榜上停留數(shù)周。2005年，Keane獲得英國(guó)音樂(lè)突破獎(jiǎng)和最佳專輯獎(jiǎng)的殊榮，在Grammy榜單中也獲得最佳新人提名。2006年6月，第二張專輯《Under the Iron Sea》在專輯發(fā)行的首周登上了美國(guó)Billboard音樂(lè)榜的第四名。

The EP was recorded in various studios during the Perfect Symmetry world tour. Tracks 'Stop For a Minute' and 'Looking Back' mark Keane's collaboration with Somali/Canadian rapper K'Naan.'I think those tracks show us in a completely different light,' says Keane frontman Tom Chaplin. 'Your Love' features Tim Rice-Oxley on lead vocals.On 3 February, it was confirmed that the lead single for the EP will be 'Stop for a Minute'.On 8 March 2010 the song 'Clear Skies' was played by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music radio station, making it the first song of the EP to be played on radio.On 11 March 2010 the first single from the EP, 'Stop for a Minute', made its debut on Fearne Cotton's BBC Radio 1 show.

Keane's London-based manager Adam Tudhope says the EP 'may be a mix of styles and genres of music, but it's full of the hallmarks that make Keane...'
